There are many reasons for a garage door falling out of proper alignment, so make sure you have a professional diagnose the situation before attempting to fix it yourself.

• Every garage door opener is designed to reverse direction when the descending door comes into contact with an obstruction. If your door has problems in this situation, the opener’s sensitivity may need to be adjusted. The owner’s manual can tell you how to make the adjustment, but you should also consider having a trained professional perform this service.
• By law, all garage door openers that were manufactured in the United States before 1993 must include a second safety reversal feature—in most cases, it’s photoelectric eyes that are installed no higher than six inches above the floor and create an invisible beam that, once broken, automatically reverses the door. Q: How long will it take you to repair my garage door?
A: We almost always complete repairs on the same day. Our trucks are fully stocked with parts from a wide variety of manufacturers, so we rarely need to run back to the shop to pick up parts.
