Here at American Ratings Corporation, creators of the Diamond Certified Resource, we love social media. Why?
Consider small-town America. Fifty years ago, the community epicenter might have been the local diner—you’d stop in for a cup of coffee and stay for the fellowship. In today’s world, small-town America is online and community centers have gone digital. Whether you’re catching up with a friend from high school, scrolling through pictures of your niece’s wedding or wondering how to remove wine stains from your carpet, social media channels are the places to connect. That’s why we love them. We’re a local business that works for local consumers, but we don’t have a storefront and can’t really offer you coffee. What we can do, however, is connect with our community (you) on social media. How does this work?
Facebook
Every day on Facebook, we share Tips of the Day: quick tips that are meant to simplify your life. We also notify our followers of new blog posts and consumer news. And since we’re people, too, we have fun sharing what’s actually going on in our office.
We tweet, do you? Twitter has been described as a 21st century newspaper, and as a news outlet, it certainly carries the load that was once shouldered by the local paper. On our Twitter feed, we provide consumer news and local happenings alongside our consumer tips. Follow us to stay up-to-date on what’s going on.
Over the past few months, we’ve been developing our Pinterest boards. For those who haven’t tried Pinterest yet, think of it like a digital corkboard. It’s an easy-to-use digital scrapbook that helps users discover, save and share images—both from the web at large and Pinterest itself. Since its launch five years ago, Pinterest has become an indispensible tool for anyone embarking on (or just dreaming about) a home improvement project. Follow our boards for design tips, how-tos and inspiration.
Our infant Instagram account is growing quickly. Follow for interesting images and spotlights on Diamond Certified Experts, and keep an eye out for our upcoming series that profiles real workers from Diamond Certified companies.
Are you interested in working at American Ratings Corporation? We’re always looking for great people to join our team, and LinkedIn is a good place to find out more.
Of course, for these social media channels to really constitute community, we need your help. We want to hear from you! Did you have a great experience with a Diamond Certified company? Tweet about it and tag us. Do you have expertise to add to one of our daily Facebook tips? Leave it in a comment. Do you have a question? Just ask! All of the channels listed above give you ways to get in touch—and as the social media manager, I can tell you that I read and respond to everything. As a matter of fact, engaging with our community is one of the best parts of my job. So, whether you’re sharing, posting, tweeting or pinning, get in touch and we’ll treat you to a (virtual) cup of coffee.
